The National Speleological Society (NSS) is made up of over 10,000 members and 250 grottos.
The National Speleological Society does more than any other organization to study, explore, and conserve cave and karst resources; protect access to caves; encourage responsible management of caves and their unique environments; and promote responsible caving.
If you have any type of interest in caves, you need to be a part of the NSS.
The Central Indiana Grotto is an internal organization of the National Speleological Society and historically many CIG members have been influential in the operation and decision making of the NSS as directors, executive committee and even president.
